is Pakistan's first English-language Stand-up Comedian. Beginning in 2005, Sami was the first comedian to ever tour the country, performing in auditoriums, schools and colleges. Since then he has performed a total of 4 unique hour-long solo shows, taking each one to various cities across Pakistan. Sami has also been a feature performer in the on-line virtual world of Second Life, bringing hilarity to crowds of pixellated avatars from around the world.
In 2008 Sami began single-handedly Hosting, Writing, Producing and Directing a news-satire television show, NEWS WEAKLY. Appearing on Dawn News, it ran for two full seasons, garnering much critical acclaim both locally and internationally.
Sami was also a long-time member of Pakistan's first improvisational comedy troupe, BLACK FISH, which was chosen to represent Pakistan in an international theater festival in Manchester, England. He co-wrote "We've Made Contact" for the festival; a half-improvised half-scripted original format play for the British Council Connecting Futures Project, which was performed in Manchester.
His latest project is the ongoing comedy podcast "How I Became a Suicide Bomber". A fictional audio bookcast about the life of the world's worst suicide bomber.
In between, Sami finds time to co-host a popular radio show, write articles on everything from journalism to politics, judge Music award shows and work as a Creative Director for an international Advertising agency.
Sami Shah has had very little sleep.
